Dexibell is a relatively unknown product for many, but ever since their launch in 2015, the Italian manufacturer has knocked over musicians worldwide.

Who is Dexibell?

In 2013, Roland decided to close their production in Italy, which had been a workplace for some of Roland's very best designers, engineers, musicians, among others. And it was these people who decided to get together and create their very own stage pinao - Dexibell. In 2015, the first Dexibell instruments came on the market, and as more and more musicians have become known with their products, their popularity has grown tremendously.

At Dexibell, they have a vision to make musical products that are faithfull to the highest expectations of even the very best musicians. With old craftsmanship combined with new technology, they will create a renaissance among digital musical instruments.

Dexibell has a number of keyboard instruments available. A home piano series (H series), portable series (P series) and stage piano series (S series). In addition, they also have two organ keyboards (Combo and Classic). In this article we will take a closer look at their VIVO S7 Pro.

Dexibell VIVO S7 PRO

In their stage piano series, there are a total of six models, of which the VIVO S7 Pro is the second highest model in the series. With this stage piano you get a professional stage piano of the highest quality, which contains fantastic samples of both acoustic and electric pianos. Thanks to Dexibel's amazing True To Life (T2L) technology, the VIVO S7 Pro delivers more than 100 sounds that are all deeply realistic and authentic. This technology is a big part of their approach, with the following elements at play:

  • Infinite polyphony
  • 24 bit audio and up to 48,000 Hz
  • Over 15 seconds recorded samples in 3D surround
  • Combines sampling and modeling (recorded and generated sound) - a technology with completely unique algorithms

In addition, the VIVO S7 Pro has 1.5 GB available, where you can add even more sounds from the Dexibell website.

Specifications

On the VIVO S7 Pro you will find keys from the Italian brand Fatar. It is their TP-40 Graded, which are the same keys that you find on i.a. North Stage 3 88.

At the back of the piano you will find a balanced stereo XLR output, an unbalanced stereo jack output, 4 inputs for various pedals (sustain and expression pedals), MIDI (In, Out, and Thru), USB (To device and memory), Audio In and finally an input for headphones.

The piano has access to a number of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) effects. This means 8 sound effects and master effects, all independent of each other. In addition, the VIVO S7 Pro has what is called 'Seamless Change'. This means that you can switch both effects and sounds without interrupting the audio signal.

Design

As Dexibell's employees are some of Roland's most talented designers in the past, one can only expect a beautiful and stylish design on Dexibell's products. As you can see in the pictures below, this is an expectation they have lived up to.

It has a stylish and partly retro design. There is a good overview of the stage piano's functions, and it is nicely divided into modules, where you have a 'master' module that controls the piano's overall functions, such as transpose, chorus and reverb, an Audio FX module that controls sound effects and filters such as cutoff, Low Pass Filter, etc., a main menu with a small screen and buttons for navigation, and finally an audio module to switch between all the different audio categories.

The body of the stage piano is made of pure aluminum, whereas the sides are made of wood. This makes the stage piano very robust, and with its only 18 Kg it is perfect for gigs.
